If the operating mode flashes green or the "LOAd" display remains on the screen for several days, this indicates either an empty or defective battery. The "LOAd" display also appears when the battery connector is not plugged in. If the flashing stops within a week, the battery has recharged. However, if the flashing continues, the battery is either deeply discharged or defective and must be replaced.
It is important to note that older models use an AMP battery with a special connector. These models do not operate without a battery, unlike newer models. In newer models, the battery can be disabled; however, if a power failure occurs, the door will not be able to switch to emergency power mode.
How to Identify Which Battery is Installed:
- AMP Battery: Used in older models; the connector is not visible.
- JST Battery: Used in newer models; the plug is visible (either on the right or left, depending on the door hinge).
First, determine which battery is installed in your device. Once you have this information, please contact us at support@petwalk.at. We will be happy to advise you on the possible costs and options for replacing the battery. You can either replace the battery yourself (we will gladly provide instructions) or send the pet door in for repair so that we can replace the battery for you (a flat rate will apply for the battery replacement).
AMP Battery:
The AMP battery was used in pet doors produced before the manufacturing date of 06/14. It provides a reliable power source with a lifespan similar to that of a car battery.
- Usage: This battery was installed in devices manufactured before the date 06/14, with the exception of serial numbers xxx04xxxxxx, xxx06xxxxxx, and xxx08xxxxxx.
- Operational Capability: Models with AMP batteries cannot function without a working battery. Therefore, in the event of a power failure, emergency power operation is not possible.
JST Battery:
The JST battery was used in pet doors produced after the manufacturing date of 06/14. It provides a reliable power source with a lifespan similar to that of a car battery. This long-lasting battery ensures that your pet door operates smoothly even during power outages and can automatically switch to emergency power mode.
- Usage: The JST battery is suitable for devices with serial numbers xxx04xxxxxx, xxx06xxxxxx, xxx08xxxxxx, and for all models produced after the date 06/14.
- Operational Capability: Unlike older models, your pet door can operate without a battery installed. However, the JST battery is necessary for the door to switch to emergency power mode in the event of a power failure.
