Can a pet door be retrofitted into any front door?
In principle, a petWALK pet door can be integrated into almost any front door – regardless of whether it's wood or plastic. Installation is usually carried out directly by your trusted front door manufacturer or a qualified specialist company. Especially for new construction projects, it is advisable to coordinate the pet door with the door manufacturer already during the planning phase. We recommend reporting the installation of the pet door to your insurance company.
Security and burglar resistance remain intact
A common concern when it comes to front doors with cat flaps is the security risk. A conventional flap is often an invitation for burglars (e.g., by "reaching through" to the doorknob). Since our pet door locks like a vault door when closed and is designed to be burglar-resistant, the protection of your house remains intact.
